Northern Vertical is excited to announce and host Camden, Maine’s first annual Camden Climbing Festival - May 19-21, 2023 - in the Camden Hills State Park.
This has been a longtime vision for Northern Vertical founder Ryan Howes. “It’s time to celebrate the climbing lifestyle in Camden, Maine, where the mountains meet the sea, with a mixed community of local climbers, climbers from away and folks who will be learning the sport at the festival”.
Friday kicks off with a 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM volunteer trail clean up to support the Camden Hills State Park.
All CCF participants will be camping together and eating delicious, locally supported food all weekend long.
Friday and Saturday evenings will be dedicated to local speakers and climbing legends like Camden’s guidebook author, Ben Townsend and Camden’s very own Jonna Bragg, formerly know as the prolific world-wide first ascentionist John Bragg.
Saturday’s climbing will focus on clinics for all abilities and Sunday’s guided experience via Ryan of Northern Vertical will unveil Camden’s latest rock climbing developments: Maiden’s Cliff, which hosts approximately 30 new rock climbs from 5.5 - 5.13.
